1) Light golf bag
When you’re prepping for a walking round, you want to carry (or roll on a push-cart) a light bag but still one with enough space to carry everything you need — balls, tees, divot tools, water bottle (or other bevs), sunscreen, potential rain gear, etc. Here are a couple of bags the GOLF staff recommends carrying during your walking rounds.
Highlights
- Weighs less than 3 lbs; 9″ top
- Six pockets including a beverage pouch
- X-Strap double-strap system
Highlights
- Only weighs 4 lbs’ 9″ top
- Five pockets including a beverage sleeve
- E-Z Lite dual-strap system
2) Push-cart
It may not seem feasible to carry a push-cart, or a “trolley” as they call them almost everywhere else except in the States, but the one we’re featuring below is ergonomically designed to help you easily travel with it. It folds right up so you can efficiently get to where you need to go.

3) Sun protection
Sun sleeves and sunscreen are a couple of great items to carry in your bag for sun protection on the golf course. You should always wear sunscreen or at least a hat to protect your face from harsh rays, but you should also consider a light long sleeve on sunny days. It may seem counterintuitive on a hot day, but the sporty materials nowadays are absorbent and quick-drying, which helps to cool you down even faster.

4) Comfy pair of shoes
Walking golf requires a stable and comfortable shoe, and that’s exactly why we love the FootJoy Tour Alpha. It’s the shoe Brian Harman wore at the Open Championship a couple of weeks ago.
Oh, and score — these babies are on sale right now for $50 off (because the new versions will release next season).
