Course Overview

This unconventional Tom Doak treasure catapulted him into the spotlight at the turn of the century. A slew of par-4s on the first nine gives way to a 3-3-5-4-3-5 start to the second nine. Only Mike Keiser would have approved of such an unusual par sequence and this course helped modern architecture break free from certain design shackles that had constrained designers over the past five decades.   • Hole everyone talks about

    No. 13, par-4, 444 yards. This show-stopper plays alongside the coast to a fairway that’s more generous than it appears from the tee. But things tighten up for the approach. Miss left, and your ball tumbles down the cliff. Miss right, and you’ll find yourself in the massive (and unique) dune hazard.

  • Best non-golf amenity

    At Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, it’s all about the golf. But make sure to carve out time for the Pacific Grill at Pacific Dunes. The food menu is elevated and delicious, and the restaurant, with its floor-to-ceiling glass windows, overlooks the golf course.

    There’s so much great golf at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, but don’t sleep on the 13-hole par-3 Bandon Preserve. It’s a blast, and with all the walking you do during your stay, a par-3 trek to start or end a day will be a nice reprieve.
